Medhat Haroun Engineering Fellowship
The Medhat Haroun Engineering Fellowship is open to both Domestic and International Ph.D. students. Eligibility criteria includes: Emphasis in Structures, Geotechnics and Materials Engineering, a graduate level UC GPA of 3.7, and successful completion of the Preliminary Exam. A call for applications will be sent by the Graduate Coordinator to continuing Ph.D. students.

Miss Fountain Valley comes in third for Miss California title
Maaikee Pronda, the reigning Miss Fountain Valley, was crowned second runner-up at the Miss California competition in Fresno Friday. … At age 20, Pronda earned her bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering at UC Irvine .… She graduated magna cum laude from both Fountain Valley High School and UC Irvine. At UCI, she was president of the Engineering Student Council and initiated “Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day,” which partnered local companies with Girls Scouts and their parents during an interactive learning event.

Welcome to the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of California, Irvine. We are an interdisciplinary and enthusiastic group of faculty and staff who are firmly committed to the success of our students and programs. Created as a new department in 2018, MSE houses our well-established ABET-accredited B.S. in materials science and engineering, as well as a minor available to other undergraduate majors. We also offer a doctoral program in MSE and three options for master’s degrees: a thesis option and a comprehensive exam option, both of which are M.S.
