Mobility and Communications

The world is becoming an increasingly connected place, not just connections among people, but between people and devices, and amid the devices themselves. Computer systems are ubiquitously embedded, and wireless communication is now a commodity. At the Samueli School of Engineering, faculty conduct leading-edge interdisciplinary research in embedded systems, emphasizing automotive, communications and medical applications; technologies for next-generation (5G) wireless systems; advanced communication algorithms and techniques for increasing capacity and reducing interference in wireless networks; and promotion technology and knowledge transfer for the benefit of the individual and society.
