The department offers M.S., M.Eng., and Ph.D. degrees in civil and environmental engineering. Faculty members have interest and research expertise in four primary areas: hydrology and water resources systems; structures, geotechnics and materials; transportation systems and environmental and energy systems. Each area has unique degree requirements detailed in the CEE Graduate Handbook.

The M.Eng (Master of Engineering) in Civil and Environmental Engineering is a one-year professional degree program aimed at training its students to gain practical skills for applied engineering practice in engineering management and advanced topics in CEE such as sustainable infrastructure design and the use of data science in civil and environmental engineering. Many of the courses are taught by experienced professionals in a curriculum carefully crafted by the CEE Faculty their close industry partners.
