Ingato Selected for Fletcher Jones Fellowship
Ingato receives the award to help fund her doctoral degree.
Ingato, whose adviser is Professor Young Jik Kwon, researches nanotheranostics, the use of nanotechnology to integrate diagnostic and therapeutic functions into one system. She specifically investigates the development of cell-derived nano-carriers for biocompatible, targeted cancer therapy.
She also is interested and involved in engineering education, serving as a senior Pedagogical Fellow, a member of the STEM Future Faculty advisory committee, the DECADE (Diverse Educational Community and Doctoral Experience) Education Chair and a student representative to the Engineering Graduate Studies Committee. Ingato is a pedagogical coach for the ROCCT (Research Opportunities for Community College Teachers) program, which helps community college educators interest their students in STEM-related research.
