Hideya Gamo, Ph.D., and professor emeritus of electrical engineering and computer science, passed away Sept.17, 2006.
Born in Ueda,
Prior to UC Irvine, Dr. Gamo was a professor of electrical engineering at the University of Rochester, worked as member of the research staff at IBM’s T.J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, N.Y., and was a research associate, and lecturer at the University of Tokyo’s physics department. A memorial service will be held for Dr. Gamo in celebration of his life on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Berkeley in
