Project Scientist - Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering

The UC Irvine Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering invites applicants for a project scientist in the Gorodetsky Group, at the assistant or associate level. The position requires a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, molecular and cellular biology, polymer chemistry or related fields. There are multiple openings for applicants with expertise in cell biology, cellular engineering and bioelectronics, broadly defined. Expertise with mammalian cell culture, specifically within the context of bioelectronic devices, is required for the position. The start date is negotiable. The initial appointments would be for one year, with the possibility of extension, depending on performance and completion of programmatic objectives and milestones.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• The position requires a conferred Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, molecular and cellular biology, polymer chemistry or related fields.
• Expertise with mammalian cell culture, specifically within the context of bioelectronic devices.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be able to work with a wide variety of lab members in a team environment.
