Postdoctoral Scholar – Chesler Lab
The UCI Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Samueli School of Engineering is currently accepting applications for postdoctoral scholars to join Professor Naomi Chesler’s lab (http://CheslerLab.org) to study the biomechanics and mechanobiology of pulmonary hypertension and right ventricular failure. Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience and expertise relevant to mechanobiology, vascular mechanics, hemodynamics and/or ventricular function.
The role requires that you have the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Post-doctoral fellows will join a highly collaborative and innovative research group whose mission is to improve cardiovascular health through the integration of mechanical engineering, vascular biology and imaging tools, to advance knowledge in these fields and to educate the next generation of leaders in cardiovascular engineering and science. As an added benefit, fellows will have the opportunity to work and live in Irvine, California, 15 minutes from the sandy beaches of the Pacific Ocean and 60 minutes from the ski slopes of the San Bernardino mountains.
Requirements: Applicants must have an M.D. or Ph.D. degree in a relevant discipline such as Biomedical Engineering, Physiology or Cardiovascular Medicine or equivalent. A strong interest in a research career, is desired.
Note: Total duration of an individual’s postdoctoral service may not exceed five years, including postdoctoral service at other institutions.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and years of experience. Minimum annual salary range from $64,480.00 - $74,425.00.
