Assistant Specialist – Part-time

The UC Irvine Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) in the Samueli School of Engineering is currently accepting applications for an assistant specialist to work part-time at 50% (20 hours per week) in the laboratory of Professor Abraham Lee. Must have experience in the general field of microfluidics for single-cell functional screening, bispecific antibody screening, immunology/immunotherapy and live-cell imaging. Specific skills desired include droplet microfluidics, microfabrication, single cell analysis (e.g. scRNA-Seq), cell culture (e.g., primary and derivative cell line culture, PCR/RT-qPCR, cloning, flow cytometry), microfluidic flow simulations to understand cell-flow and particle-flow interactions, and project management experience.

The initial appointment will be 12 to 24 months. Renewal of appointment will be contingent upon the availability of adequate funding and performance.

Requirements: A Ph.D in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related engineering field. Good communication and written skills are required.
