Memorandum of Understanding signed on April 6th, 2012

Ulsan Technopark is a South Korean government project whose goals are to consolidate the personnel and material resources that are currently scattered in different businesses, universities,or research institutes; to promote the joint development of technologies and the commerciali-zation of research results and ultimately, to activate the local economy and to boost the nation's competitiveness.

Ulsan Technopark, established in December 2002, has been helping in the creation of new technologies and business support programs with the cooperation of industries, academic or research institutes, and the government,and has performed the role of a local innovation agent in carrying out planning,R&D evaluation, and post-management to promote local businesses and core strategic industries.

The Henry Samueli School of Engineering at UC Irvine and Ulsan Technopark (UTP) agreed to promote future mutual cooperation in scientific research and commercialization of technology.



The following general forms of cooperation will be pursued:

  • Exchange of research scholars
  • Joint research activities
  • Exchange of scientific materials and information
  • Join technology commercialization
