Speaker Bio:
Dr. S. Kim is currently a Distinguished professor at the School of Environmental Science & Engineering, Gwangju Institute of Science & Technology (GIST) in Korea. He is also a member of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology and leads the Global Desalination Research Center (GDRC) as a Director (follow-up of SeaHERO Program). Professor Kim was awarded an outstanding university service award by GIST (1995), outstanding paper by the Korean Federation of Science & Technology Association (2001), Prime Minister Award (2008), and many others. Professor Kim authored three books and published over 350 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and conference proceedings. He is a Fellow of the International Water Association and served as Chair of the Water Reuse Specialist Group. Professor Kim is serving as Editor to several renowned international academic journals. His specific research area is membrane-biotechnoloy for water reuse, desalination and renewable energy.
