CEE Seminar (ZOOM): Sharing Economy and the Next Generation of Mobility Systems

Abstract: The future of transportation lies at the intersection of two emerging trends, namely, the sharing economy and connected and automated vehicle technology. This talk will focus on two examples of how these technologies can enhance mobility in transportation systems. Specifically, the talk will discuss peer-to-peer ridesharing systems and wireless transfer of power between peer electric vehicles.
Bio: Neda Masoud is an assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Michigan. She holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and a master’s degree in physics. She received her doctorate in civil and environmental engineering from the UC Irvine in 2016. Her research focuses on devising operational and planning tools to facilitate the transition to the next generation of mobility systems, which are envisioned to be connected, automated, electrified and shared.
