Abstract: Long Beach Airport (LGB) Director Cynthia Guidry will share details of LGB’s modernization program, which makes strategic pre-security enhancements to the airport, along with ongoing sustainability efforts to support clean technology to become a carbon neutral facility.

The award-winning LGB was founded in 1923 and is the oldest municipal owned airport in California. As a small-hub airport offering nonstop commercial service to multiple U.S. cities and one of the world’s busiest general aviation airports, LGB prides itself in preserving its esteemed historic legacy and maintaining a safe, sustainable and environmentally responsible operation.

Bio: Cynthia Guidry is the director of the Long Beach Airport. Nicely nestled in Southern California as an award-winning airport with a unique open-air concourse, LGB is served by a handful of commercial carriers and is also one of the busiest general aviation airports in the country. LGB prides itself on providing fresh, new facilities and amenities, bringing the ease of travel to its customers. Guidry and her team will lead the next phase of improvements, adding to the respected legacy of LGB.

Guidry is a Professional Engineer licensed from the state of California and has 28 years of planning, engineering and professional experience working for the city of Los Angeles, 18 years with Los Angeles World Airports, including several years as deputy executive director of the Planning and Development Group.

She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Los Angeles Chapter of Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS), and as vice-chair on the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) Airport Leadership Collective Committee. Guidry holds an MBA from Pepperdine University and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from UCI.
