Bio: Sam Bhat possesses an interdisciplinary engineering and geosynthetics management background. He has served the global geosynthetics market for the past 26 years having worked with some of the world’s leading geogrid organizations in the U.K., U.S. and Canada. He has extensive technical experience using geosynthetics solutions for a wide range of geotechnical and environmental applications, including base/soil reinforcement; asphalt reinforcement and maritime engineering in North and South America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Bhat has lectured at reputed universities in Canada including Ryerson and Concordia, as well as is extensively involved in interdisciplinary academic engineering programs offering value-added geosynthetic solutions to help address a variety of complex civil, environmental and geotechnical engineering problems. He has also presented numerous technical papers at geosynthetics conferences around the world. Bhat is presently involved with collaborative R&D projects with Concordia and Carleton University using custom developed geosynthetic products. As Titan’s chief technical officer, he is currently responsible for devising and managing global business strategies for the company's geosynthetic technologies as well as developing new products. Bhat believes in designing and offering flexible, state-of-the-art geosynthetic solutions that are price competitive, user and environmentally friendly, technically advanced and suited to local conditions wherever they are used. Working in conjunction with Titan’s philosophy, he strives to provide customized value-added solutions using optimal geosynthetic products, design, clear installation guidelines and comprehensive technical and services support. His work, particularly with geogrid product development and testing, has been instrumental in taking the geosynthetics industry to the next level.
