Abstract:
Boiling is a very efficient heat removal process and as such is utilized in many energy conversion and electronic cooling processes. Because of the complexity of the process, we have mostly relied in the past on empirical correlations. In this presentation, progress that has been made recently in resolving the phenomenon through numerical simulations will be described. A special emphasis will be placed on delineation of the phenomenon under reduced gravity conditions.
