About the Speaker:
Dr. Jim K. Omura is the technology strategist for the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and a member of the National Academy of Engineering. He co-founded Cylink Corporation in
Join Dr. Omura as he describes the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, their foundation goals and grant-making approach, and many of the projects they support, with emphasis on the environment and science. Established in 2000, the Moore Foundation supports projects and grants in the areas of environmental conservation, science, and the San Francisco Bay Area. Environmental conservation initiatives include the Andes-Amazon, Wild Pacific Salmon, the Marine Conservation Initiative, and the Conservation International Commitment. Science programs include Marine Microbiology and several special opportunity grants.
