Community Water Internship Program

Nonprofits and government agencies in the watershed of the Santa Ana River can apply for two fully-funded student interns to support water-related community engagement and education projects. Project must serve people in a disadvantaged community, economically distressed area, or an under-represented community in the watershed. Students from CSU, UC, and community colleges can apply. Once your agency selects the right candidates, they are hired, insured and paid by California State University, San Bernardino. The Community Water Internship is run through a partnership between the Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority and the CSU Water Resources and Policy Initiatives, funded by a Proposition 1 grant administered by Department of Water Resources. Undergraduate students receive a paid internship of up to 360 hours, and graduate student up to 300 hours. Students can work no more than 20 hours per week while in school and no more than 40 hours per week during school breaks and can be reimbursed for project-related supplies and transportation.
