CALIFORNIA: PROSPERITY THROUGH TECHNOLOGY
5th Annual Industry Research Symposium
May 15-17, 2006

The Henry Samueli School of Engineering at UC Irvine hosted its fifth annual industry research symposium focusing on new biomedical engineering technologies to advance society. Attendees had the unique opportunity to network and learn about new research techniques in ophthalmology, nanoscale technologies for cancer, engineering applications for neuroscience and rehabilitation, new array technologies for cellular diagnosis, as well as implantable medical devices.

In addition to UC Irvine faculty, invited speakers included industry experts, prominent scientists and researchers from around the world.

Following Monday’s symposium events, the School’s dinner and annual awards banquet was held at the Engineering Plaza on the UC Irvine campus in honor of selected outstanding faculty members and students, as well as two guests of honor who were presented with the Engineering the Future award and the Outstanding Alumnus of the Year award.
