Postdoctoral Scholar - Kheradvar Lab
The UC Irvine Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Samueli School of Engineering is currently accepting applications for postdoctoral scholars to join Professor Arash Kheradvar’s research group (https://kheradvar.eng.uci.edu/). Kheradvar's research group (KLAB) pursues several projects related to cardiovascular science and engineering. The current projects are on research and development of heart valves, tissue engineering (3D tissue culture), biofluid mechanics, medical imaging and image analysis (MRI and echocardiography) and artificial intelligence/deep learning. Desired expertise includes cell/tissue culture experience, heart valve design/testing, theoretical or experimental fluid or solid mechanics, computational fluid dynamics or computer programming (C++ and/or Python). The role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are preferred. Requirements: Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline such as mechanical and aerospace engineering, computer science/engineering, electrical engineering, material science or biomedical engineering. A strong interest in a research career is desired. Note: Total duration of an individual’s postdoctoral service may not exceed five years, including postdoctoral service at other institutions.
