CASE 2016 Circle of Excellence Bronze AwardJune 20, 2016 - For the second consecutive year, the Samueli School of Engineering Dean’s Report has earned a bronze award in the CASE 2016 Circle of Excellence competition.

CASE, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, is an international association of educational institutions. Its Circle of Excellence awards, judged by professionals within education as well as outside the field, recognize outstanding work in advancement services, alumni relations, communications, fundraising and marketing. This year’s competition received 3,350 entries in nearly 100 categories, with fewer than 10 percent receiving awards.

The 2014-2015 Dean’s Report was recognized in the annual magazine category, alongside Drexel University (gold award) and the Yale School of Drama (silver award). There were 42 entries in this category, and publications were judged based on design and readability as well as budget and number of staff.

According to the judges, “The UCI Samueli School of Engineering, University of California, Irvine 2014-15 Dean's Report had one of the more beautiful cover designs. The paper stock, color choice and spot varnish on the cover images of squids were gorgeous. The contents page surprised the reader with a very fun photo of the school's dean that's titled "Vibrant Momentum.”

The Dean’s Report is produced by the school’s Communications Office.
