MAE Undergraduate Wins Sigma Gamma Tau Award

Dat Huynh (left) is congratulated by MAE Chair Ken MeaseDec. 23, 2015 - Dat Huynh, a senior in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, won an Undergraduate Student Award from the Sigma Gamma Tau National Aerospace Engineering Honor Society. The award is presented to outstanding students who demonstrate exceptional academic and technical achievement, participate in extracurricular activities and show interest in their profession.

Huynh, president of UC Irvine’s Sigma Gamma Tau chapter, also is project manager of the UCI Human Powered Airplane project. The national honors society awards nine regional undergraduate awards each year; Huynh was selected this year for the Southern Pacific Region honor. He received a plaque and a $250 cash award.
