Biomedical Engineering Student Selected to Attend 2011 Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings

Claire Robertson will attend meetings in Germany in June

Claire Robertson, a third-year biomedical engineering graduate student in Professor Steven George’s lab, has been selected as one of 591 young researchers from around the globe to attend the 61st Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings in Germany.

Robertson’s research looks at how the airways of the lung change in diseases like asthma or smoke inhalation, and whether the fibrosis seen in these diseases causes changes in their mechanical behavior.

The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings take place from June 26 - July 1, 2011. At the meetings, about 25 Nobel Laureates in physiology or medicine and 591 young researchers from 70 countries will meet to exchange ideas, discuss projects and build international networks.
