Year in Review - Highlights of 2010 at UCI

Year brings scientific advances, national accolades, international outreach, student activism and – yes – anteaters

Engineering students and faculty part of a memorable 2010 at UC Irvine, including Sitara Nayudu, who became the first engineering major and the first woman of color elected Associated Students of UCI president, and Robert Liebeck, Ph.D., adjunct professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, who received the 2010 Daniel Guggenheim Medal, which recognizes individuals who significantly advance the field of aeronautics. Its first recipient was Orville Wright.
