Huynh received her doctorate and master’s degree in aerospace engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her bachelor’s degrees in aerospace and mechanical engineering from UC Irvine. Her research focuses on aircraft systems design and operations, aviation emissions and noise mitigation, and the integration of emerging technologies, such as electrified propulsion, in the national airspace. The overarching goal of Huynh's research is the development of operations and integration of technologies to improve airspace efficiency and reduce negative environmental impacts due to aviation.
