Postdoctoral Scholar Position - Lavernia Research Group
The UCI Department of Materials Science and Engineering in the Samueli School of Engineering has openings for postdoctoral scholars in the research group of Distinguished Professor Enrique Lavernia.
The position will involve the synthesis, microstructural and mechanical studies of high entropy alloys, or so-called complex concentrated materials, with particular emphasis on interfaces. The postdoctoral scholar will work closely with the associated graduate students under UCI MRSEC program, to understand interfacial phenomena in complex concentrated materials, including atomic-level structure and chemistry, interfacial thermodynamics, kinetics and mechanical properties.
This position requires a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering or related fields and experience in materials synthesis/processing and characterization techniques.
This is an ongoing recruitment and this position is dependent upon availability of extramural funding. Initial appointments are short term (1 year), and renewal is based on job performance and availability of support. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and years of experience.
