Postdoctoral Scholar in Navigation, Autonomy, Wireless Communication and/or Signal Processing

Commensurate with qualifications and years of experience

The UC Irvine Samueli School of Engineering has an mmediate opening for a postdoctoral researcher in navigation, autonomy, signal processing and/or wireless communication systems in the research lab of Zak Kassas (Autonomous Systems Perception, Intelligence, & Navigation Laboratory). Desired qualifications include and doctorate in electrical and computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or a closely related field; knowledge of at least one of the following: autonomous vehicles, signal processing and wireless communications, and/or GNSS; demonstrated hands-on expertise in software-defined radio (SDR) design and implementation and/or sensor fusion; strong programming skills (MATLAB, LabVIEW, and/or C++); publication in relevant top-tier journals and conference proceedings; strong communication, presentation and documentation skills; and ambition to become a leader in the field (professor, senior R&D engineer, managing technical director, program manager, etc.). The position duration is a minimum of one year, extendable up to three years and not to exceed five years.
