Postdoctoral Scholar - Mohraz Group (Colloidal Biomaterials)

The Colloid Science Laboratory in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the area of biomaterials derived via colloidal self-assembly. We seek candidates with expertise in colloidal assembly at fluid interfaces, polymer chemistry and immunology. The research project will be related to the application of solid-stabilized emulsions in improving the lifetime of insulin infusion sets.

The initial appointment is for one year, with the opportunity to renew after the first year. Note: Total duration of an individual’s postdoctoral service may not exceed five years, including postdoctoral service at other institutions.

Requirements: Ph.D. in chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, or materials science and engineering. Candidate must have a solid background in colloid science, polymer chemistry and physics, and immunology. The candidate must be familiar with current strategies for the management of Type-1 Diabetes.
