Postdoctoral Scholar with Hobbs Research Group
The UCI Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar position beginning May 2023.
The postdoctoral scholar position is in environmental sustainability and health with a focus on complex problems at the food-energy-water nexus. The candidate must possess experience in data analytics and be familiar with aspects of sustainable waste management, waste to energy, and environmental analysis and modeling. This position includes modeling and lab/field research.
The position requires a Ph.D. in civil, environmental, chemical engineering or a related field from an accredited university. The preferred candidate should have experience in life cycle assessment as well as good written and oral communication skills and demonstrate a strong research publication record. The candidate will join Assistant Professor Shakira Hobbs’ research group to perform ongoing projects supported by various funding agencies.
Initial appointment will be for a 24-month period, renewable subject to performance and availability of adequate funding.
