Bio:  Y. (Grace) Hsuan is program director of the Structural & Architectural Engineering and Materials, Division of Civil, Mechanical & Manufacturing Innovation at the National Science Foundation. Hsuan also is a professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering and an affiliated professor of mechanical engineering and mechanics at Drexel University. She received her doctorate in materials science from Imperial College of the University of London. Her research activities include degradation of polymeric materials, service life prediction, fracture mechanics of nanocomposites and synthesizing light-weight aggregates from coal ash.
