Bio: Joon You is the Chief Innovations Officer of Praxis BioSciences, Inc., a technology incubation firm focused on commercializing innovative and practical solutions for biomedical research and healthcare industries. Prior to his launching of the Praxis BioSciences in 2010, he had been involved with several startup companies as a co-founder or and a product development lead.

He has dual B.S. degrees in Physics and Chemistry from University of Maryland, College Park and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from University of California, Irvine (05'). At UC Irvine, he was awarded ARCS Foundation Orange County Chapter scholarship. He is also an Adjunct Professor in Biomedical Engineering Department at UNIST (Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology) located in Ulsan, Korea, where he assists with development of global industry-university programs for student entrepreneurs and university technology translation.


The Entrepreneurship Seminar Series provides a real-world introduction to the theory and practice of entrepreneurship. Through a series of presentations by prestigious entrepreneurs and industry leaders, participants will explore the various organizational, strategic and financial challenges facing successful and unsuccessful entrepreneurs. Topics include start-up strategies, business idea evaluation, business plan writing, and introduction to venture capital.
