Understanding climatic phenomena and hydrologic processes often requires understanding the interdependence of multiple variables. Copulas provide tools to describe the dependence structure between hydrologic and climatic variables. This summer school will focus on the statistical theory and applications of copulas in hydrology and climatology, with a particular emphasis on climatic extremes. The course involves hands-on lab work and project-based learning experience. This Summer School is coordinated and administered by the International Commission for Statistical Hydrology of the International Association for Hydrological Sciences (IAHS).
