Postdoctoral Scholars – Computational and/or Experimental Biology

The UCI Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) in The Henry Samueli School of Engineering is recruiting for highly motivated and creative individuals for postdoctoral scholar positions in computational and/or experimental biology for the Downing Laboratory for Stem Cell Epigenomics. The Downing Laboratory utilizes engineering principles in conjunction with molecular biology and next-generation sequencing technologies to understand cell fate transitions in the context of human health and disease.

Multiple Tenured Positions: UCI 2016 Midcareer Professor Hiring Initiative

UCI is engaged in ambitious strategic expansion and seeks to hire tenured Associate to early Full Professors with distinguished publication (or creative endeavor) records and upward trajectories in their research profiles. This special initiative is independent of other specific search announcements. We will build on the existing strengths of our faculty campuswide, fortify our commitment to diversity and consider interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary, and convergent-science scholars for hire in general campus units.

Postdoctoral Scholars - Laboratory of Fluorescence Dynamics

The UCI Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering is anticipating openings for postdoctoral scholar positions (levels I-IV) in the Laboratory for Fluorescence Dynamics.

Requirements:  Seeking qualified candidates to pursue specialized research in developing novel imaging techniques for the study of biological systems, specifically in analysis protein dynamics in cells. Positions will be focused on the development of fluorescence methods and instrumentation techniques.

Postdoctoral Scholars – Prof. Chang Liu Lab

The Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering is anticipating openings for postdoctoral scholar positions throughout the academic year for the laboratory of Professor Chang C. Liu.

Requirements:  Requires a Ph.D. or equivalent in bioengineering, chemistry, genetics or a related field. Good communication and writing skills are necessary.

Seeking qualified candidates with experience in the following areas of interest:

Jr. Specialist or Assistant Specialist in Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroscience

$36,432 - $44,904
Will remain open until filled

The Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering is currently accepting applications for a Jr. or Assistant Specialist to perform experiments to reset epigenetic controls and boost energy production as investigational approaches to improve memory in an Alzheimer mouse model.  The position will be under the supervision of Professor Gregory Brewer.  The initial appointment will be full-time for one year.  Renewal of the appointment will be contingent upon the quality of performance and availability of funding.

Postdoctoral Scholar: Cellular and Biomaterials Engineering

The Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar in Professor Wendy Liu’s lab.  The successful candidate will lead an NIH-funded project in molecular design of materials to modulate the immune system for applications in medical devices and tissue engineering.

Postdoctoral Scholar: Orthogonal Genetic Systems

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Irvine, invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar in Assistant Professor Chang Liu’s lab.  Liu’s laboratory designs and applies orthogonal biosystems to dramatically accelerate or decelerate the speed of evolution, to reinterpret the genetic code, and to record transient information. Recently, the Liu Lab engineered the first orthogonal DNA replication system, and currently seeks to hire three postdoctoral scholars to develop orthogonal replication and genetics. Projects will focus in the following areas:

Associate Professor, Biomedical Engineering and Associate Director, Beckman Laser Institute and Medical Clinic

Will remain open until filled

The Beckman Laser Institute and Medical Clinic (BLI) and the Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering at the University of California, Irvine are seeking to fill a new, tenured position in Biophotonics with specialized expertise in spectroscopy and imaging of skin.  Primary responsibilities will include serving as Associate Director of the Beckman Laser Institute while contributing to the teaching and advising of postdoctoral, graduate, and undergraduate students in the Department of Biomedical Engineering.  An appointment at the Associate Professor ra
