The Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering is currently accepting applications for a part-time lecturer for spring quarter 2016 to teach an upper division course, BME 180C: Biomedical Engineering Design. This course is the senior capstone design course for biomedical engineering students.

Lecturer - Spring 2016

The UC Irvine Department of Biomedical Engineering is currently accepting applications for a part-time lecturer for spring quarter 2016 to teach a lower division course, BME 60C, Engineering Analysis and Design: Computer-Aided Design. Curriculum areas includes Computer-Aided Design (CAD), SolidWorks and basic device prototype skills.

Requirements: Candidate should have a Ph.D. or equivalent in biomedical engineering, bioengineering or mechanical engineering. Prior college-level teaching experience is desired but not required.

Multiple Tenured Positions: UCI 2016 Midcareer Professor Hiring Initiative

UCI is engaged in ambitious strategic expansion and seeks to hire tenured Associate to early Full Professors with distinguished publication (or creative endeavor) records and upward trajectories in their research profiles. This special initiative is independent of other specific search announcements. We will build on the existing strengths of our faculty campuswide, fortify our commitment to diversity and consider interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary, and convergent-science scholars for hire in general campus units.

Postdoctoral Scholars - Laboratory of Fluorescence Dynamics

The UCI Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering is anticipating openings for postdoctoral scholar positions (levels I-IV) in the Laboratory for Fluorescence Dynamics.

Requirements:  Seeking qualified candidates to pursue specialized research in developing novel imaging techniques for the study of biological systems, specifically in analysis protein dynamics in cells. Positions will be focused on the development of fluorescence methods and instrumentation techniques.

Specialist - Synthetic Biology, Yeast Genetics and Molecular Biology

The UCI Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering is currently accepting applications for a specialist to join the laboratory of Chang C. Liu. Assistant Professor Liu's laboratory designs and applies orthogonal genetic systems to accelerate or decelerate evolution, to reinterpret the genetic code, and to record non-genetic information.
