Lecturer - Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

The UC Irvine Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering has occasional needs for temporary lecturers to teach undergraduate courses. Applicants must hold a doctorate in mechanical and aerospace engineering or related field by the time of employment.

Please send a CV, cover letter, sample teaching evaluations (if available) and a list of at least three references. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Research Specialist – Electric Field Combustion Modeling Research

commensurate with experience

The Lasers, Flames and Aerosols Group (LFA) associated with Professor Derek Dunn-Rankin at UC Irvine is seeking a research specialist for advanced modeling of electric field effects on laminar diffusion flames. The successful candidate will work with colleagues at National Laboratories and at UCI to simulate experiments of hydrocarbon flames under the influence of electric fields.

Specific responsibilities will include:

Professor of Teaching in Engineering

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Will remain open until filled

The UC Irvine Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering invites applications for a “Professor of Teaching” position. This position falls under the Lecturer with Security of Employment series at the University of California; security of employment is analogous to tenure.

Post-doctoral Scholar in Control and Dynamical Systems

commensurate with experience
The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at UC Irvine is currently accepting applications for a postdoctoral scholar position in the area of control and dynamical systems. The research will focus on studying collective behavior of dynamical processes under stochastic uncertainty. In particular, the research will focus on applications that include surveillance via sensor networks and the control of interconnected networks and particle systems.

Postdoctoral Scholar in robotics and wearable sensing for rehabilitation

commensurate with experience

The Biorobotics Laboratory at the University of California, Irvine is currently accepting applications for a postdoctoral scholar position. The research will focus on development of robotic devices and wearable sensors for neurorehabilitation after a stroke. We are seeking an individual with a strong background in robotics, controls, circuits and signal processing. A Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering or a related field is required. Experience with rehabilitation engineering and movement science is preferred
