Assistant Specialist Position – Nilsson Group

The Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of California, Irvine invites applicants for an Assistant Specialist position to work on radioactive isotope production using the UC Irvine TRIGA reactor. The applicant must have experience in handling and working with open sources of radioactive material, preparation of samples and synthesis of irradiation targets. Experience with calculations of irradiation yield and dosimetry is required, as is knowledge of use and function of radiation detectors. A reactor license for the UCI reactor is beneficial. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering, chemistry, health physics (or a related field).
