Assistant Specialist in Nano-architected Materials

Salary will be commensurate with experience.

The Architected Materials Lab at UC Irvine is currently accepting applications for an assistant specialist position. The research will focus on fabrication, modeling and mechanical characterization of nano-architected materials. We are seeking an individual with a strong background in mechanics and additive manufacturing - in particular two-photon polymerization and a proven ability to fabricate complex nanostructures in polymers, metals and ceramics. Experience with electron microscopy and nano-mechanical characterization techniques (in-situ mechanical testing within a SEM, nanoindentation, etc.) is highly desirable. A doctorate in mechanical engineering, materials science, physics or a related field is required.

Please send a CV, cover letter and a list of at least three references. The positions are one-year appointments with the possibility for annual renewal.
