Assistant Specialist in Mechanical Metamaterials

The Architected Materials Lab at the University of California, Irvine is currently accepting applications for an assistant specialist position. The research will focus on fabrication, modeling and mechanical characterization of nano-architected materials. We are seeking an individual with a strong background in mechanics – particular finite elements analysis and additive manufacturing, and particular two-photon polymerization  – and the proven ability to fabricate complex nanostructures. Experience with electron microscopy and nano-mechanical characterization techniques (in-situ mechanical testing with a SEM, nanoindentation, etc.) is highly desirable. A Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, materials science, physics or a related field is required.
