Postdoctoral Scholar – Synthesis and characterization of structural materials
A postdoctoral scholar position is available in synthesis and microstructural/mechanical characterization of advanced structural materials in Professor Enrique Lavernia’s laboratory in UCI's Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science. The postdoctoral scholar will be focused on the synthesis and characterization of a number of novel materials, including but not limited to nanostructured high entropy alloys. Applicants should be recent Ph.D. graduates with backgrounds in materials science and engineering, or related fields (degree date of 2015 or later). The candidates must be self-motivated and have extensive hands-on experience in materials synthesis/processing and characterization techniques including severe plastic deformation, spark plasma sintering, XRD, SEM, TEM, mechanical testing and related data analysis.
Interested candidates should send a cover letter detailing their research interests, a CV and contact information for at least three references to:
Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
