Tenured Faculty Position in Mechanical Engineering
The UC Irvine Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in the Samueli School of Engineering welcomes applications from faculty candidates with international leadership excellence in transdisciplinary research with disciplinary focus in mechanical engineering topics. This faculty hiring initiative is associated with UCI’s vision to promote both convergent science and inclusive excellence. The successful applicant is expected to conduct large-scale, collaborative and transdisciplinary research and to have experience in developing international partnerships. The successful applicant also will help continue to establish UCI as a national leader and global model of inclusive excellence by building a diverse research community. The appointment is expected to be at the full professor level, but exceptional associate professor candidates will be considered.
Applicants must have a doctorate from an accredited university in a relevant science or engineering discipline. Successful candidates will be expected to develop a vigorous externally funded research program, maintain a strong publication record, advise students and provide outstanding teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition, successful candidates will have a track record of contributing their leadership and creative thinking toward innovative mechanical and aerospace engineering research and education.
